Building Confident Learners Through Explicit, Personalised Support

Online Individualised Literacy Intervention That Goes Beyond Tutoring

What makes us different?

Unlike general tutoring sessions that focus only on weekly school tasks and homework help, Flourish programs are designed around long-term literacy development and measurable progress. Each student receives personalised one-on-one online support from a qualified Australian teacher — not simply a tutor — through structured literacy teaching which is tailored to their individual learning needs, goals and stage of development.

Each program is tailored to your child’s explicit needs.

  • Diagnostic assessment

  • Explicit skill instruction

  • Guided practice

  • Feedback and correction

  • Independent application

  • Ongoing review and reporting

This structured model helps students build confidence, independence and stronger literacy outcomes over time.

How it Works- Specialised Literacy Support Sessions

Step One

Every student begins with an individual literacy assessment to identify current strengths, learning gaps and areas requiring targeted support.

This assessment may include:

  • Reading fluency and comprehension

  • Writing samples

  • Spelling and phonics analysis

  • Grammar and sentence structure observation

Assessment results are used to create a personalised learning plan tailored to each student’s needs and goals.

Diagnostic Testing

Step Two

Each session focuses on the direct teaching of a specific literacy skill identified in diagnostic testing, using clear, structured instruction.

Skills may include:
  • Paragraph structure
  • Sentence construction
  • Reading comprehension strategies
  • Spelling pattern recognition
  • Vocabulary development
  • Persuasive or narrative writing techniques

Students are taught not only what to do, but how and why literacy strategies work.

Explicit Instruction

Guided Practise and Application

Step Three

Students apply new skills alongside teacher support through scaffolded activities and collaborative learning tasks.

This stage allows students to:
  • Practise skills in a supported environment

  • Ask questions and clarify understanding

  • Receive immediate teaching adjustments where needed

  • Independently take on tasks

Feedback

Step Four

Students receive ongoing, individualised feedback each session to strengthen understanding, improve accuracy and create new learning goals.

Feedback focuses on:
  • Reinforcing strengths
  • Correcting misunderstandings
  • Refining writing and literacy skills
  • Developing independent editing habits
  • Real-time feedback supports faster progress and deeper learning.
